It was ND Senior day....Pre-game was 23 degrees, wind gust of 25 mph......It was my FIRST football game ever in the snow....I was PUMPED!
Long story short, between the 3rd and 4th quarter the game announcer said wind chill gust were -12 to -17 degrees.
My daughter was a Senior, after game tradition was Seniors get on the field.....Turns out it was THE LAST Notre Dame game on the GRASS FIELD. So, the field being torn up by the players, I reach down and grab some field turf and put it in my jacket pockets. When I get back to work a couple weeks later, I hand 2 co-workers who live and die ND Football baggies filled with the filed turf from the last game ever played on grass in ND. Needless to say, I walk on water in those guys eyes........You see, it's a nice gesture on my part since I'm a big USC fan.
Hottest day, probably a pre season game in Anaheim Stadium in the late 70's early 80's.....Ram game of course
