None of that applies to an infectious disease for which there is no vaccine yet.

The supreme court has already considered several cases where states have imposed limitations on people's actions in response to an infectious disease. In every instance the court upheld the constitutionality of states imposing reasonable restrictions in the name of controlling an infectious disease for the public good. Such powers fall under the authority given states under the constitution to exercise “police powers” and impose restrictions on individuals for the sake of public welfare, order, and safety. Even if said restrictions infringe on individual liberties. That's inherent to the constitution and it was from the beginning.

As for your idea that imposing speed limits is a communist act (because that's basically what you said)....well, no. Just, no. cool smiley
