I don't know why NFL fans stick their heads in the sand and pretend that Goodell isn't the most politically sensitive and active commish the sport has ever had.

And since he has done this (and thank gosh a few sports writers have finally had the cajones to say so out loud), then he also has to pay the piper for the side he supports, and in turn supports him. And that means that everything he does has to pass proper political muster. If that's not clear then get your eyeballs checked.

And to the Board Admin. Goodell has made your job impossible. I know you don't want political talk (and I don't either) but it has become one entangled organic life form. When the NFL and the politicians and the politically oriented media all work together in concert, and when a commissioner becomes as entangled in partisan political and social agendas as he has, there is simply no longer any separation. He has made the marriage; not us the fans.

I sure as heck never wanted it this way. I wanted to be able to watch the NFL as an escape from this nonsense. But no; Goodell has joined the NFL to the fray. And there is no backing away as long as he is around.

Perhaps. But by signing a waiver, it certainly gives political cover
