Seriously, tho.. I have sand from at least 38 different countries and multiple samples of sand from different areas in the same country.. for example, I probably have 20 samples of sand from the area from Cancun to Tulum Mexico - and they all vary it color.. some are almost pure sugar white, while some are darker - like a "bone" color..

But the sand samples friends have brought back for me from California are - yeah - more tannish colored? Definitely not THAT light, but I don't live there, so I can't definitively say what color it actually is.. I've seen sand from the Pacific side of Mexico that is very brownish and much darker..
