at first glance
and the schedule doesn't look easy at all... these are not the 2018 Rams
we have no idea what we have in the oline and what we do know is not confidence building, we have new coaches all over, no OTAs because of COVID, limited opportunities to fill gaps because of the salary cap
this year feels like a reset and even if a lot of Ram fans don' seem to realize it the Rams certainly do
Could they surprise and do better... sure but things would really need to fall right. For example
49ers regress badly (think how the Rams regressed last year)
Seahawks also slip
Rams stay fortunate with good health
Several teams in the NFC collapse - Saints, Vikings, Packers
Goff matures and contributes more even though he no longer has a Gurley, Cooks, Woods, Kupp surrounding him
oline plays much better than either version played last year
defense is able to adapt to new scheme quickly
Last year the Rams slip opened the door for the 49ers
It does happen but the Rams roster just doesn't feel like they are heading in that direction
I guess we will see
