Akers had a super go of it at the drills you caught for us in that tape.
Along with Akers, I thought Helaire, showed quite well, too. Evans, and some kid name Hasty did well, too, on the first drill session
Aker's snags that pass quite nicely, and then rockets off. Sure have to like the quicks, and the ability to pull that off with all the eyes trained on you.
Van Jefferson
He runs a legit 4.4 and can be Torry Holt 2.0........oh boy......ended up loving the pick of Torry Holt. I was torn on the Champ Bailey selection. One of those moments where certainty about a player was so, so high. Champ had that. But Holt was a big chunk of the great wheel that led to the Superbowl runs. You get a Holt level rookie, and good times to be had.
Terrell Lewis
Love that you love the kid. Didn't quite see the speed or the moves when I watch highlights; but that's the problem with highlights.....they don't show the hurries, and hurries, and disruptions are just as valuable as the take downs. Perhaps for the guys coming back from injuries the extra month or whatever it ends up being will help. For sure, this one has a toolset. And you can't coach height. We need more tipped passes. He and Brockers ought to have that down.
The Other Terrell
Note for note with you on Utah and their consistent ability to field a defense over the last number of years. I'd wager that he'll make noise early as one of the winners of this draft. RB and WR might take a moment to get the playbook, and the Edge kid might be a bit deep in rotation, but Burgess will have opportunities to behead some folks and will be good wandering the field, too.
TE Brycen
Took time to enjoy some highlights. And this one has quite a few. Not sure he's got the level of talent that our starters do, however if you're running 2 TE sets and fall asleep on this kind of player; He'll make you pay. He's got girth that Mundt doesn't. Takes time with TEs? To learn, and apply, and get the opportunities.
