Here's my perspective on the Ramsey trade.
Suppose you had a crystal ball and you know for a fact that Jeff Okudah will as good as Ramsey in the pros. So you trade this year's first round pick (#20) and next year's first round pick to move up and take Okudah. In that scenario I think I'm thrilled with the trade.
The downside to getting Ramsey instead of Okudah is the Rams have to pay Ramsey his second contract in 2021 where Okudah won't hit his second contract until 2025.
The upsides to trading for Ramsey? No one has that hypothetical crystal ball. Okudah, as good a prospect as he is, is a complete unknown as a pro player. He will go early - and rightfully so - but there's no guarantee that he'll pan out to be the next Ramsey.
