I think we all have stuck it out through the dark days so that's a given in terms of perspective and whatnot.

I don't disagree with the OP. In fact I feel like our team is still plagued by some stupidity in the front office. Now granted it is not nearly of the level we had during the Shaw/Ziggy era. But just because we made it through those days doesn't mean it's ok to basically mismanage our window on the contracts side and trade for veterans who didn't move the bar much.

IMO the Rams need to get back to a good solid team building foundation. Draft well. Don't squander your picks. Sign the right guys. Make the correct "hard" decisions. It's not easy when you're a winning team, in fact I think it's far harder when you have success as teams want your players, your staff, even your front office types.

Snead is the guy right now who is on the hot seat. Or he should be. He's been a little too free with the picks. He's been a little too influenced by the coaching staff, which can be good and bad. If I'm an owner of an ELITE organization, which I now consider the Rams to be with McVay in place and a billionaire owner who just solved SoCal's stadium crisis, I expect the utmost vision and decision making from my GM. An elite organization needs a GM who sees the team and the pieces clearly, knows their values, and can tell the staff "that's not a good idea" when they want to sign a guy like Ogletree then turn around and trade him after they realize it was a mistake. Or lock their RB up early to a record setting contract when they could have waited.

I'm actually rooting for Les btw. I think he does a lot of things well and McVay seems to appreciate him. But IMO the face of this franchise is Sean McVay. And if you want to do something special over multiple years he's going to need a top GM working hand in hand with him to ensure the long view isn't lost.
