Working on some analysis on NFL combines and drafted players. Just looking at 2019 sorted by top 3 cone times(all positions) I eyeballed the following:
The best 3 cone in the entire 2019 combine--David Long @ 6.45
15th on the list a Mr. Taylor Rapp @ 6.82
19th a Dakota Allen @ 6.88
Henderson, Gaines, Evans didnt participate.
When trying to predict players at non-lineman positions 3-cone outliers might be a good place to start.
To see how rare a 6.45 time in the 3-cone is I did a search for all non linemen(number of results limited) since 2000
3cone combine table-top performersTo get in the table you need to have a 3-cone of 6.5 or less and greater than 3(to get rid of the non-participants.
