I've heard Snead and I believe Demoff talk about the early extensions. It sounds like, as an organization, they decided to handle them that way. It doesn't fall on one person.
That said, I agree that they need to rethink the strategy. I've disagreed with the majority of early extensions they've done over the last few years.
