Better and more expansive testing. Contact tracing. Emerging treatments. Global collaboration. All could help greatly. But as Fauci and Birx say repeatedly, the virus won't be done by some date. It will be done when it's done. That is understandably hard for people to accept. But if the country stays vigilant and aggressive in snuffing this out some things should be back up and running in June, then July, then August. What 'those things' are and whether sports is one of them is very much still TBD...
Lack of a robust national testing policy (even to this day) really hamstrings policymakers on issues connected to resuming any activities (i.e. work, commerce, travel, sports).
Asbit relates to sports...absent a vaccine (or serological testing to determine who has antibodies), ALL players/coaches connected to team sports (professional / collegiate / high school / club) will need to be tested daily. And I find that difficult to imagine since we (Californians/Americans) have yet to test more than 1% of our populations.
We're still flying blind with respect to the virus.
