The inexperienced McVay came in and blew the doors off of the ‘16 team led by the Uber experienced Fisher.
Sometimes, youth, energy, and fresh ideas make tremendous differences over those that they replace.
Besides, this D will still hardly be without it’s studs and at least one super stud.
Top 7, I say! Lol.
First no McVay was not an inexperienced coordinator, he was an experienced one. And in his first year as a coordinator in Washington when he was calling the plays, the offense ranked 17th
But let's pretend that 2017 actually WAS McV's first year. Tell me the history and fate of inexperienced coordinators throughout league history. Is it common or unusual to produce an elite unit in year one of a new coordinator's career?
Given that---which is Staley? Is he a fast starter, like Martz was, or is he the more typical case of a good beginnning coordinator? Answer: neither of us knows that. You may THINK you do but then...people just do that. OBECTIVELY, neither of us will know until it happens.
And of course people can often neglect to add that McVay inherited a lot of pro-bowl caliber talent in LA AND did not have injuries that year, so they can sometimes leap to some false conclusions about 2017.
