Say the Rams leaked the logo. Maybe they have a few they are choosing between. They leak the least liked. Gain publicity and get true fan reaction. The reactions to this logo is probably better and more truthful than anything they have received in any focus group.
Obviously, leaking it is possible but no idea of it is likely. But leaking a logo in the running when you have others could definitely be of value in my opinion. One other point to consider, all future logo releases will be judged against that hideous thing. So, it makes their job easier.
