True, but the guarantee and what he did for the AFL catapulted Joe Willie Namath into the hall of fame...The Chiefs victory a year later against the powerful Vikings (should have been George Allen's Rams) cemented the equality of the two leagues, but Namath made people aware and was in the right market.
