Wade's - 'just let the talent win' makes sense when you have Von Miller and that stacked Denver D that year But with a roster that has some holes - as the Rams are sure to have moving forward (can't pay everyone) they have to be more creative week to week. Maybe that was the strategy the last few offseasons - spend money and draft capital to bring in the most name talent - Suh, Talib, Peters, Matthews, Weddle, Ramsey - and let them win one on one battles. Unfortunately a lot of these guys just seemed past their prime or were making too much money and lacked the fire.
The Pats D is not usually loaded with all-stars but they are able to use game planning to throw offenses off. I think that stuck with McVay after last year's Super Bowl.
If you were a head coach - who would you emulate? Bellichek is probably the one.
