When I met with Vinny before the Carolina game, He told me one cool story about a talk he had with Snead. Said Rams had Wentz and Goff extremely close. But one big thing was the research they did on Wentz. Going back to HS, Wentz was always the kid running into walls for fly balls playing baseball. Got banged up consistently. This trend continued into college. Snead said when it’s in a players blood, it’s nearly impossible to break. They didn’t want to take on that risk.
Wentz has an inherent tendency to put himself in vulnerable situations. All his fans blame Clowney, calling him a dirty player, but the refs said Wentz turned himself into a runner, he never gave himself up. He doesn’t do that, the refs know that, so does Snead, and so should everyone.
So call it a cheap shot by Clowney if you want, but the underlying issue is Wentz is Clyde Crashcup.
