Whit's 38yrs old coming off an avg year...who's gonna give Whit 10+m/yr for multiple years or even 1yr??
Weddle signed for 4m/yr...and Mathews signed for 6m/yr....guys at the end don't have many choices. imo
Mathews has been great and is well worth the 6m/yr..imo
Weddle can go now that we have Rapp, JJ, Christian
The Cooks deal would be for a 2nd rounder OR...a 3rd + 5th...and Cooks is well worth a 2nd rounder to a team that needs help.
Cooks is a proven 1,000yd WR and he's a burner. Most teams know that there is only one football on our WR loaded Rams team - so the numbers may not be as high as other FAs...but Cooks has delivered for the most part during his 3yrs here...this last year being an injury marred bad season. However, cooks is young and his 2nd contract will end up being avg after the next round of re-signings...not a cap killer and well worth the money for another team that does have the space and no talent at WR.
Also, Cooks has been with McVay, the Saints and the Pats and has delivered 1,000yd seasons for all three teams. Oh yeah, I could see us trading him and getting a 2nd. TG might be the money dumping trade you speak of ...much more than Cooks. Cooks is young and can still play well...his concussion histroy is a bit disconcerting for teams but Cooks is a gamer.
anyway....we just disagree on this one, 43...nw!
