But the rumors might be due to the Rams sniffing around on who is available in front offices. Why? Well because Les Snead might not be safe.
Blasphemy? Not if you look at the draft value Les squandered in taking shots at a championship. Whether or not any of us were fans of the move at the time, fact is the Rams came up a bit short and now are facing a defensive rebuild and some key OL needs without a lot of draft picks.
What would cause the Rams to consider going another direction? I think a few things, to include them thinking they might not be able to ink Ramsey. Or them thinking he is a risky signing. Or them simply thinking Les is a bit too risky in his approach even.
My own take is that Les is good at what he does, but may be a little too aggressive. If I'm the owner I'm not sure I'd want to have him beating my door down next season to trade our 2nd round pick for some veteran who is available. I feel like a GM should have the long vision, and it would be crucial to me that McVay is surrounded by the best. So we'll see how things shake out, I mean it could be empty rumors too of course.
