Watch him. He no longer just explodes into plays, he has a note of patience and picks his spots more deliberately.
He's being smarter.
And is still a dominant back.
More patient, smarter? Fine.
But "dominant"? He's certainly not dominating statistically, and I don't think he's dominating even in light of the opportunities his OL does/doesn't afford him.
Even in the team's most impressive, most "dominant," win of the season - against Seattle - while Gurley role was crucial, 23-79 (plus 4 catches for 34 yds) - hardly dominant.
