Cheating against the 1 win Bengals can also support a narrative that they actually weren't cheating. Why risk the stiff penalties that are sure to come against such a unworthy opponent?

There are many NFL execs who are believing the Pats story. Myself, I'm withholding judgment until a thorough investigation is done.

True, and what I expected vs. what I hoped are two different things. IMO, any rational person would have condemned them long ago but there are plenty of people who simply refuse to accept that in a game of inches, cheating of any kind should be cause for criticism.

Common sense suggests that if they've been caught this many times cheating that it's probably just the tip of the iceberg. But no one wants to believe that the NFL is corrupt and willfully looks for a reason to move past these continued allegations.

But when it boils right down to it, from Spygate 'til now, the Patriots have been cheating and the NFL has brushed it under the rug. Since their cheating has directly affected the Rams losing two SB's, I would imagine most Rams fans being hesitant to give any benefit of doubt. Those @#$%& cheated us twice as far as I'm concerned.
