McVay is great and the players love him. He is encouraging and I don't fault his game management, though there is room for growth.
The team's demise has everything to do with all the shortsighted moves made over the last few years....tossing around draft picks and extending players prematurely. You simply cannot have the money we do tied up in the likes of Goff, Gurley, Higbee (?), Cooks, etc... with Kupp, Ramsey, Fowler, and more coming due. The fact we don't have first rd draft picks the next two years, and missing a 4th as well is the real killer. The organization has let Trader les run wild and now the chickens are coming home to roost. les Snead is also totally undeserving to continue as GM and should have been fired a loooong time ago.
Rams would have been better off keeping their draft picks, letting Goff play out his contract and then leave, and then drafting a new QB and let McVay coach him up on his rookie deal. I imagine he could find someone with at least as much talent as Goff, and we went to the Super Bowl with that scrub.
Anyway, love McVay and wish there was something he could do to turn this mess around, but sadly the job is bigger than he is.

Goff proved he can be a high level QB with oline and a run game.
This can be fixed.
