I disagree emphatically about Reynolds. While Goff and McVay may trust him the defense does not in any way. He is consistently single teamed and does not draw the attention on his deep routes.
Cooks value comes not just from his production but from the attention he draws deep. Nobody fears Reynolds. Gordon IS feared, despite falling out of favor in NE.
I agree that Cooks is more respected by defenses. But the flip side to that is Reynolds is single covered. Last game didn't he have two long receptions of 30+ yards?
When is the last time Cook had that?
The beauty of the Rams WR room is that they can all beat single coverage. So if the double team goes to Woods or Kupp, then Reynolds can still beat whoever is left covering him.
