From most every article I've seen since the Ramsey trade, Peters didn't fit the Rams/Son of Bum's defensive scheme, so why did they pick him up in the first place?
It has also been reported that the Rams were going to trade him regardless of whether they picked up Ramsey or not.
I understand that the team ultimately was successful, making it to the super bowl AND the price wasn't too high....BUT they took a chance on a guy with possible locker room/team issues for a player that just couldn't play man defense...it just seems odd to me.
Did they change much of the defensive scheme to match Peter's skill set?
At the time Peters was considered one of the best corners in the league and the Chiefs were looking to dump him for a pretty cheap price because of the on field issues.... he was a good compliment to Talib, but we all saw when Talib went down last year he wasn't very good trying to be the top dog in the secondary. Talib went down again this year and I think they just wanted to get something while they can for him because they weren't going to keep him around next year anyway. I don't think the Tampa Bay game or Seattle game this year helped his cause much either....That's what I'm thinking....
