Ebukam, Obo, Patrick (hasn't played much) have zero sacks combined! We've drafted and developed some good options on parts of the roster, but it seems like edge rusher has been a real week spot for us. Maybe, league-wide - for edge rushers - you need early first round picks to get a chance at real production.
If you can't get even one sack with Donald being doubled and tripled and Fowler likely getting extra attention - it's very simple - you're not very good.
Not sure why but i get the sense that Obo is the new Barrett Jones - the hidden gem, stuck on the bench mysteriously, but when they get on the field - look out! Then pffft - nothing.
THere are candidates behind him, but we don't know really yet who they are. (This was true of Fowler early in his career too.) Obo (the crowd favorite), Patrick, and also Matthews comes back.
It's the same discussion with Fowler that it is with Littleton and Johnson.
With a qb 2nd contract, one "best defender" 2nd contract, AND a looming possible 2ND "best defender contract" in Ramsey---how many other big contracts can you keep?
It won't be all 3 of the guys I mentioned (Fowler, Littleton, Johnson). It might even be only 1 of them.
