I know it can be disruptive to change centers, but how has Allen been grading out? He had the ridiculous holding penalty against San Fran (even announcers said its not called 9 times out of 10) and he's been whipped on quite a few plays, but overall how do you think he's done? And what about Shelton? Has some college pedigree (all pac 12) - also 3 inches taller than Allen - maybe better wingspan?
Also looks like Shelton played every position at UW - is he a candidate for Guard?
According to PFF, 2 Rams OL rank worse than Allen. Here are the rankings:
Whit - 67.7
Hav - 52.6
Allen - 50.2
Blythe - 43.3
Noteboom - 39.9
Pretty awful across the board but the guards have been a bigger issue than the center. And who knows what will happen with Noteboom's backup. Hopefully we get an improvement there.
Demby is literally the worst ranked OL in the league at 25.7. He is ranked 187/187.
Which makes me wonder...this is not the first team to make a line from mostly mid to late round picks. Are they all this bad or is something bigger going on?
