I believe this season is nothing more than a 'learning' season....lucky to get a wild card birth, but I'm not expecting much. This seasons has felt 'off' from the beginning.
I see this as a typical SB loss hangover, where they made some questionable personnel decisions, including keeping aging veterans on the team like Whit, Talib....and even Weddle. At this point, those are questionable decisions.
The team doesn't look hungry, angry or emotional at all. Like.....at all. They seem very complacent.
I envy the hunger in teams like the Seahawks and 9ers. This team looks like it's on Xanax at times.
I don't think it is totally hopeless; a couple of games have turned on bad plays or single decision. A missed FG last week to win? Littleton drops a pick six today?
We could be having different conversations with two to three single plays each week.
I'm VERY disappointed in two things:
1. This team has NO ENFORCER outside of Donald. No one. No Cam Chancellor, no Burfict.....in other words, they look soft.
2. It is SO disappointing to see that this was basically a 49er home game. It's disgusting. Terrible on every level. It can't sit well with the players either. Might be what I hated most today.....a sea of red in Los Angeles for a rivalry game.
I think this season may end up better than people think, but I in no way see it ending up in a return to the Super Bowl. We lose each game at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. No champions come from that.
