It was an exciting game for an impartial fan to watch. Don’t think that many viewers tuned out, even on the East coast.
But for a diehard Ram fan? It was frustrating and painfully revealing.
I’m just gonna say it. This team is not as good as I and many others had thought. We have weaknesses that I had formerly thought were strengths.
Talib
Peters
DL (both run D and pass rush)
Edge (pass rush, mostly)
Tackling.
Wade’s pass D schemes.
Big Whit is slipping.
Hav suddenly has issues
Gurley is but a shadow of his early 2018 self and every D schemes accordingly.
OL is improving slightly, but they’re way behind where I thought they’d be by now.
Goff has not picked up as I had expected after reading camp reports. He’s definitely flashed at times, but has also missed open receivers and made more bad passes than I had expected.
McVay is a mere mortal, after all. Meaning that he has called some subpar games so far this season.
Don’t know about you, but I’m disappointed in the development of Gaines, Henderson, Long, and Obo. The latter 3 can’t even make the active list, for cryin’ out loud. Is it coaching or maybe Snead overrated them?
It’s very sobering to learn that one’s expectations were both unrealistic and built upon sand.
Lots of work to do if 2019 is to be salvaged. And even more work next offseason to restore this team to SB worthy status.
