IMO I'm afraid what Carter says is true. I thought about it in Chicago but then came Dallas. I thought about it again in the SB but thought this last summer would give him a chance to recover from whatever. Now -well -like Carter says Todd is a great guy and from all that I hear and see of him he certainly appears to be that. All the more reason I can't just say "cut him" or even "bench him". But there is no argument that Carter is right when he says that the Rams took a real chance in drafting him after his very, very serious knee injury that almost ruined any chance of his being drafted at all. Its just sad-some players you identify with -he's that guy for me.
If you go back and watch the game last week, he actually looked like Todd Gurley..... had the Rams been up 21-0, I'm sure you would seen much more than five carries, but it was the other way around and it was out the window.... although he only had 5 carries, two of them were TD's. The 13 yard TD was classic Gurley, burst through a hole, break a tackle and drag a would be taller or two with him into the end zone...the other one was also a great run from the five where he also ran someone over. He had 11 targets inthe pass game.
I'm just not seeing what some are, it's like some have already forgot about week 1 where he carried the team to a victory in the 4th qtr.
We all know the line is not what it used to be right now, missing one of the best run blockers in the NFL isn't helping much.
Todd is healthy right now, the load is being lightened because it should be.....they rode the kid into the ground the last couple years and it showed up in the stretch run.....we need him healthy for the stretch run. If the Rams can get out to a nice lead on Thursday I'm sure we will see a much more balanced attack.
Chris needs to actually watch the film, instead of highlights and a stat sheet to understand why he only had five carries last week....it had nothing to do with him being damaged goods
