How many times did he fumble last night?

Certainly, small hands is not an advantage, especially in bad weather, but fumble problem is a lot more than small hands.

Brother we are old friends and go way back. But just the same with another old friend, James, I will always be adamant about one key issue. To me any effort to isolate qb play and focus on it at the expense of the whole context is something I will always resist.

Bridgewater plays behind one of the 2-3 best OLs in the league. They certainly have a top OT tandem. He usually does not face anything near the pressure Goff is these days, and when he did...against the Rams...he lost.

And Dallas has a good pass-rushing D. Quinn is there, revived. But the pressure was nothing like what Goff has been facing.

Meanwhile in contrast the Rams interior OL is young and not seasoned yet, the OTs are slipping, and against Tampa they were playing from behind against a top pass rush that knew they had to pass.

So DEs get through and swat at the passer from behind--something the qb can do nothing about. Lord knows there are famous Rams victories that turned on exactly that kind of defensive pressure--Quinn against Brees in 2013, when the Rams had no business winning. Donald against Wilson in 2017 or against Mahomes in 2018. Now maybe some people would question the qb in those 3 cases but really, that was the Rams defense getting the best of the opposing OL and taking the qb out of his game.

If that can happen to the best, it can happen to a still relatively young Goff.

...

All I'm talking about here is that we shouldn't blame Goff's fumbles on his small hands.

Now if you are making an argument that we should, then have at it.
