It could be that McVay after studying every game last season came to the conclusion that if he spread the carries around he would have a fresh TG30 ready to go for the playoffs and he could ride his big horse to the Super Bowl. I remember reading many comments from McVay explaining how he would limit Todd's usage and he has. If you think about it, he has limited the hits on TG30 while winning all three games. If that if the goal, then it's brilliant. Even though I am a purist who likes to see my starting RB put up 100 yards, I can see the viewpoint that be sharing the load by attacking with all my weapons it keeps every one fresh while denying any predictability.
