Other teams that look at their schedules and see the Rams on it are likely to have the same impression that you expressed about other teams. The Rams do not seem to have made any adjustments to the weaknesses that were exposed late last season. If not for Cooper Kupp, they would be at best 1-2 right now. Goff hangs onto the ball way too long and looks lost. He has made lots of bad throws. The Rams can no longer count on Gurley to carry the load, which is one of the things that made this team special while he was still at his best. McVay had lots of ideas that allowed the Rams to light up the scoreboard, but it has become a struggle of barely keeping drives alive. Without Kupp, they would be having lots of three and outs. I like what I see on defense. Weddle and Matthews have been great additions. The defense makes lots of big plays, but I still get the impression that they have to struggle to get stops when the game is on the line. John Fassel developed a well-deserved reputation as a special teams coach, but I have been wondering about him in recent years. He has repeatedly put dangerous (to the Rams but not to the opponent) return men on the field. In the first game, Natson got the Rams in trouble by fielding a punt inside the five yard line. Last night, he let a punt hit the ground and roll deep into the Rams side of the field. I keep wondering when he's going to muff a punt or have a game-changing fumble. I am not optimistic about this team.
