Re: Is it Goff or McVay?

September 23, 2019 04:00AM
I really like aggressive play calling so usually I'm in favor of McVay's style, but I don't get the pass he had Goff throw which was intercepted when we were trying to kill the clock. We were at the run, run, run, punt point of the game and should've pounded it up the gut three times to force the Browns to use all their timeouts. The game was ours at that point and instead we play action pass into a tipped interception and the Browns has a very great chance to tie and if they score a TD a two point conversion wins them the game. This was a terrible call. It was probably McVay's call unless Goff changed it, and if so, then McVay has got to tell him not to change the plays. There is no way you do that at that point of the game. When you have two solid RBs, Hekker and our D, it's time to be conservative and take the win. Boring as that can be. Why risk an outcome when conservative plays will win it 99 percent of the time?

Good take. Agree that our D has taken a step forward
