I've always thought of 'zone blocking' as mostly using momentum to your advantage. IOW, not so much driving a defender OFF his route but more like controlling his route so as to basically allow, thru manipulation, the defender to take himself out of the play. BUT... and although I still believe that in part.. it's far more than that. Good topic. - JamesJM
