Only from what I've been reading, the point of zone blocking is not like power blocking which is mano a mano. My guy beats your guy.
Rather, zone blocking is more about engaging and walling off defensive players towards a certain direction. So some amount of power is given up for a better amount of athleticism and lateral movement skills. No doubt, that doesn't always work out, but nothing does work 100% of the time in the NFL.
Noteboom is no little dude. He's always described as light on his feet.
And yes, while he is handling the LG spot, likely LT is his best position and will probably be his next year.
It's early in the season and the Rams offense is only clicking sporadically. When it does, it's a thing of beauty. It'll get better as the year goes on providing we don't have a rash of injuries to starters. That's why it's good news that Blythe won't be out very long, and perhaps Higbee not at all.
This week will be a good test for Demby as he'll have had a week to work in unison with the 1st team and the game plan.
