i agree with the posters who are funneling the decision towards can mf be a non slot cb. that's the 1st hurdle in my mind. peters and talib not signed after 2019 is key. nrc is signed thru 2020 at a relatively low cap hit. between jj3 and rapp i think we're fine long term at safety so if mf is just a safety, i'd pass (assuming they re-sign jj3).

if i'm reading things right, mf's cap hit would be just his salary if snead traded for him. and that would be 1.2M in 2019, 2.0M in 2020 and 2.7M in 2021. very affordable for a starting non slot cb. actually a steal.

if wade, mcvay and snead believe mf is a starting non slot corner, i think they should pull the trigger with a 1st round pick. cut d williams and hope he lands on the practice squad. trading or cutting troy hill is not an option. too big of a cap hit.
