And my biggest worry is Brees quick-releasing us to death.
And yet … quick releasing is a limited tactic. It didn't gain Brees much in the 1st half. And the announcers--as noted on this board--made observations about how, deep into the game, he had not thrown downfield.
Brees releases quickly because he has to. He is small and not particularly leggy. He can be hurried and sacked, and his balls can be batted down. (No, I am not making a crude joke! Get your mind out of the gutter!) If we can contain his quick releases and Kamara, we can be alright.
I think the biggest thing with Brees is to get him out of rhythm. That is not easy to do … yet it is doable, even with quick releases. We need a really strong, disciplined defensive effort on Sunday.
It will be almost impossible to put the game out of Brees' reach.
