I think McVay is wise beyond his years. You can only control what you can control. You can’t control injuries but he’s done some thinking about how he can stay in front of it. This season hopefully does not test fate. But injuries are huge season changers.
Personalities are difficult to manage especially in a ego driven, testosterone pulsing sport like football. McVay has put a lot of thought into finding out how goals and managed expectations can forge a common cause. He’s a breath of fresh air compared to all the snarly, in your face condescending blow hards that have traditionally held the job.
The football is evident on its own. But the off the field stuff is where the on field stuff gets its direction. I think if McVay always remembers that he’ll have a dynasty going forward.
