I believe the new CBA could play a role here. Quite a bit of talk and optimism about getting it done this year. Discussion of extending the season in a number of ways...two additional games...one additional game...additional play-off team in each conference. I would bet a new CBA would create an overall bigger pie and a higher salary cap. Pure guessing on my part but I would not be surprised if the Rams are considering this in future planning and extensions.
