Continuing a trend of giving their players record contracts, the Los Angeles Rams agreed to terms on a four-year extension worth $134 million with Jared Goff. It comes with $110 million in guaranteed money, which is the most ever in the NFL.
Goff joins Aaron Donald, who was made the highest-paid defensive player in league history last year, as well as Todd Gurley, who signed a running back-record $57.5 million deal last summer. Both players have since been passed by larger contracts – Donald one day later after Khalil Mack was traded and signed by the Bears – but at the time of signing, all three players were the highest-paid ever at their positions.
