Yes they could determine he got outplayed at his new weight by Smart and Fox and the effort to turn a hybrid 4/3 DE slash 3/4 OLB into a straight-up 3/4 DE didnt' work.

I’m just calling it like I see it. JFM looked very promising in ‘18 yet got clearly outplayed by 2 competitors in ‘19. Maybe he didn’t take this seriously enough, maybe he wasn’t really good enough, maybe Smart and Fox just sold out to make this 53 while JFM kinda coasted, maybe he ran over coach Henny’s dog, I dunno.
