With depth at other places I can see going only 3 rbs. It also implies that the team feels that Gurley will be available all year long. If they were really worried, they would want a deeper backfield.
I don't see how the Rams WOULD be worried about a well-managed arthritic knee. A player can play with an arthritic knee IF it is managed. And they're doing that.
Plus they cut 3 RBs--Colburn, Davis, Kelly--and it's doubtful all 3 get picked up.
There's a good chance one will be around if they need to pick someone up.
