How many NFL defenses have 2 good cover CBs?
How about 3?
How about 4?
The Rams have 3 star WRs and a 4th that could emerge as a star if he weren't behind those other 3 stars.
They also have an accurate, strong armed QB who loves throwing the ball down the field...... he's anything but a Check-down Charley.
What does that add up to? The Rams will throw the ball more this year than they ever have and run less. I would not be surprised to see our offense average 40+ pass attempts per game. The Run game will be to slow down the pass rush and to close games out.
Sure, with the likes of Todd Gurley the Rams will run the ball and do it effectively, but I expect to see 4 WRs lined up on a number of plays. And if Gerald Everett can make the leap that you know McVay is hoping for, he will be as much a 4th WR as a TE.
I can see a 5000 yard season coming for Jared Goff.
The Rams have an abundance of weapons that's for sure.
They are 4 deep at WR with Reynolds being starting caliber as you noted.
Everett took a big step up from his rookie year to 2nd season and I expect that to happen again. In fact, I expect him to emerge as a TE with star potential and take the lions share of snaps over Higbee. He had already started passing Higbee towards the end of last season.
And now with Henderson to add to Gurley the receiving threats seem endless.
However, I don't think we'll see much more passing than last year or Goff getting 5000+ yards. The biggest message McVay has preached as to offensive philosophy has been balance and unpredictability.
I anticipate we'll see them maintain that balance.
