I also believe if Gurley and Kupp were healthy, the Rams would have won that Superbowl.
I have no doubt about that, and I respect the heck out of the Patriots.
i believe this as well. heck, just give me gurley. said differently, i think if both teams had all their starters healthy and available for the game, the rams would have won.
conversely, i did not respect the patriots prior to this superbowl. after the game, i do. more specifically belichick. injuries are not an excuse. in no way do i feel cheated. the rams had of plenty weapons at mcvay's disposal that day. belichick just did what he does, and at this point, in my mind, he's the best ever at doing it.
unlike the last last time the rams lost to the patriots in the superbowl, it feels to me that this loss is an invaluable learning experience and a cornerstone of the foundation to future success, as opposed to the beginning of the end like last time. from a distance, it sure appears to me that both mcvay and goff are much more likely to approach the loss as a science experiment that disproved their previous theories and force them to adjust their theories instead of getting emotional about it.
