Namely, that there are a lot of players included that are ...starters or are expected to be major rotational contributors this year. Just sayin’.
That's true. BUT it's still too soon. "Expected to be major contributors" is not the same as persistent starter. You have to play who you have, and that doesn't mean that every contributor will count as a hit down the road. Oh and let my just quick say again, I THINK THE RAMS DRAFT WELL, so this is not me slamming their drafts. Just nitpicking a minor point about counting "being on the roster."
In fact, in 2014, these were the 2012 draft picks still on the roster. I
blue bold the hits and
red bold the misses.
Michael Brockers,
Brian Quick,
Janoris Jenkins,
Isaiah Pead, Trumaine Johnson,
Chris Givens,
Greg ZuerleinBear in mind that in 2014 guys like Quick and Givens were expected to be major contributors, and in Quick's case, were.
In 2014 if you assesed the Rams draft and counted all players on the roster as hits, it would be a 70% hit rate. Now, looking back, and counting only the blue bold hits, it;s actually a 40% hit rate. Which is good. A 40% hit rate is good. But it aint 70%.
