before i watched the youtubes of this guy, and going back before the draft, i thought he made a lot of sense. even if the rams took a dt in the 1st round.
given we're looking at a 2nd year guy and a rookie holding down the fort at nt, i think peko makes all the more sense now. that's one stout position. as much as we maybe hearing good reports about gaines and sjd they're both still young and unproven. and without a vet mentor at that specific position. plus we all know the issues the defense had against the run last year.
bottom line, i trust in wade. if he believes he needs peko i'm sure he'll pound the table for him. since peko wants to come to the rams, if it doesn't happen, i'll trust that wade feels he doesn't need him because he's seen enough of sjd and gaines to know what he has.
cap wise, the rams can more than handle peko's salary whether it's vet min or something more. to me the big deal is, what can peko do for gaines and sjd in one year's worth of mentoring.....
