I'd really be interested in hearing Fisher's/Snead's thoughts about Woods heading into the 2013 NFL Draft. In reviewing the 2012 roster, it's clear that the team needed help in a lot of places. But they had a good defense; a decent O-line; a solid (though aging) RB in SJax; a solid LT (Saffold); and, a franchise QB in Sam Bradford. The only thing we didn't have was a legitimate WR (i.e. someone with decent size/speed who could run a route and catch the ball).

Though I don't remember what we gave up, the team decided to trade up to get Tavon Austin. Now, this isn't a bash Tavon post, but I often wonder about the team's/Sam Bradford's trajectory if, instead of moving up in the top ten to pick him, we moved up in the late-1st (or to the top of the 2nd) round to nab Woods.

Would his selection have made Bradford less injury-prone? Likely not.

But it would be foolish to think that that wasn't a critical period of time for us. Bradford NEEDED someone he could trust out there (like Goff NEEDED someone to trust after his rookie year). Flat out...I believe that Robert Woods was better at running a route tree after his sophomore year at USC than anyone on that 2012 roster. But hey, I guess we needed to give Brian Quick a shot, right?

Anyways...like everyone else, I'm glad that Woody is on the team. After watching them give Nick Foles an extension (without playing a single down for us), I wouldn't be mad if the organization rewarded Woods with an extension before he's due.
