I thought NFL stopped teams from retiring numbers a few years back?

Regarding Eric Dickerson I like him and acknowledge his contribution to Rams and welcome his imput, feedback and support as a Ram fan and hall of famer. However, He did force a trade that hurt rams for years and eventually led to Rams moving from LA....I blame the general manager for most of it what happened.

Marshall while on air as an analyst was a big Ram fan after his playing time. Kurt not so much, but he does seem to be coming around. Maybe it helps that most of those responsible for Kurt's mishandling are gone.

I don't see much use in "retiring" numbers. I think honoring the exceptional player like Kurt or Marshall by not reissuing their number for a generation (10 years) and having their Jersey in a "Ring of Honor" is sufficient.
