The Henderson pick speaks volumes about the Rams urgency in addressing their approach to the RB position.
I think it’s a combination of things, in no particular order....
1. They want to do more of what the Pats do with their RBs, keeping them all fresh and bringing different threats to the table
2. They want to extend Gurleys career. He can’t keep up his early workload
3. They recognized they put too much money into Gurley and are trying to salvage what they can
4. They got a rude awakening at the end of the year when both Gurley and Brown got hurt. They lucked out with Anderson, but they can count on being that lucky again
5. Its blatantly obvious that if you pay a RB $14/yr, the most for any RB in the world, you want him on the field as a major force throughout the playoffs. McVay can say whatever he wants, but there is no way in hell he wanted Gurley on the bench in the playoffs for more than a couple of snaps. The hope is Henderson gives them a fresh Gurley for the playoffs.
