yes he was worth a second!! We went from laughing stock to leagues best offense
And that was not because of Watkins. As he has proven since the Rams.
They went from a 7-9 level young team that suffered through a move and so went 4-12 (rarely do teams win after moving) to a winning team because they already had this:
Goff, Gurley, Hav, Saffold, Donald, Brockers, Barron, Quinn, Joyner, Hekker, Zuerelein.
They added Whitworth, Kupp, and Woods. All that had a lot more to do with it.
And of course there was McVay.
I would have preferred the pick. The fact that Watkins was also added to a team that was going to be good anyway was not a major factor IMO.

That’s fine that is your opinion.... but it’s wrong
I think you’re underestimating what Watkins brought to the offense as others have pointed out... it wasn’t just his stats He helped win games.
I don’t think you could just throw Reynolds out there and expect the same results
I think you are underestimating McVay.
Any good coordinator could make that offense go without a (typically) underperforming Watkins. Unless you think that McVay could not get something out of Gurley, Woods, and Kupp as primary weapons. Heck New England traded Cooks away and still went to and won a superbowl, so a burner is nice but if you are saying it is an absolute requirement, then again I think you underestimate McVay. (That's not a slam on Cooks, he's better than Watkins because he is more consistent if nothing else.)
Has nothing to do with Reynolds. Thomas (though suspended 4 games) and Cooper were on the roster too. A good coordinator can make something out of what he has.
So yeah we not only disagree, we are speaking entirely different languages! Which is fine.
Though I stand by what I say and I assume you do too. Moving on. Go Rams.
