McVay and company have instilled me a very positive belief in their ability to not only draft but also to acquire via other means personnel who can contribute, and contribute significantly.
IOW... whatever direction they take I trust to be a well thought out and researched plan coordinating every avenue available to field the 2019 squad. - JamesJM
Overall and in general I think that's true. But I also think they stumble here and there. EG. was Watkins worth a 2nd? I see signs of them lacking an experienced old hand who has the strengths of veteran team builders. McVay is new at this, Snead is relatively new at this, Demoff doesn't really count (he is just not really a football guy)--compare that for example to Roseman in Phil who has been doing this since 2000 and became GM in 2010 after being a VP among other things for years.
What I describe isn't fatal and they are good far often than not, but they just don't have the vibe of veteran team builders.
I'm not "worried." But the part of me that says "tell it like it is, warts and all" is saying all that.
....
yes he was worth a second!! We went from laughing stock to leagues best offense and Sammy was part of that amazing turn around....getting a third back after he left in free agency was icing on the cake. if Sammy Watkins is a "wart" than they're looking pretty good these days. They took a 4-12 doormat to a Super Bowl in two years.....that's a pretty good vibe in team building IMO.
